Millpoint Caffe Bookshop

I have heard so much about Millpoint Caffe Bookshop and one fine day, we decided to head down to Millpoint Caffe to give their brunch a try. Interestingly, this store is part bookshop and part cafe with seatings both in the bookshop and at the alfresco courtyard area outside. However, books are not allowed to be taken to the alfresco dining area. We arrived there around lunchtime and I was so surprised to see that the cafe was so busy although it looked small from the outside. Looks like I was wrong! I had the French Toast ($14.50) topped with … Continue reading Millpoint Caffe Bookshop

Three Coins Italian Trattoria

Located along Beaufort Street towards Inglewood is the newly opened two month old, Three Coins Italian Trattoria. Three Coins is the literal translation of the family name Trequattrini and is run by the Trequattrini family of five where food is a family passion. Originally from Umbria, Italy, the Trequattrini family moved to Perth with a dream of running their own restaurant, combining their individual areas of expertise to offer Perth locals the real taste of regional Italian cuisine. We started off with the Farmhouse Duck Liver Pate with toasted ciabatta ($16), both homemade and taken from the family recipe. The Pate … Continue reading Three Coins Italian Trattoria

Pizzaca

I realised that there are quite a few cafes around the Scarborough or Doubleview area, which is close to home.  After finishing a BodyPump class on a Friday morning, Matt and I decided to head to Pizzaca for brunch. Pizzaca is a small cafe located along Gildercliffe Street in Scarborough with seatings both outside and inside. As I had to work later in the afternoon until 9pm, I went for the Pizzaca Big Breakky ($22.50) and Matt, being the “healthier” other half had the Turkey, Brie, Avocado, Spinach and Cream Cheese ($10.50) sandwich. The Big Breakky was really BIG. It … Continue reading Pizzaca

Guzman Y Gomez Mount Lawley

One week ago, Guzman Y Gomez (GYG) celebrated the opening of its 44th restaurant with their signature Free Burrito Day at the iconic Mount Lawley Planet Video site. This is the second GYC store in Perth and the first store is at Northbridge. During GYG’s opening in Northbridge last year, GYG gave away an impressive 4,372 Burritos and Burrito Bowls. Matt and I arrived at GYG Mount Lawley in the evening and there was a long queue. We joined the queue but luckily it was fast moving which did not take us long to arrive at the doorstep at GYG. … Continue reading Guzman Y Gomez Mount Lawley

Revisiting Mrs S

After our spontaneous trip to Swan Valley without making a booking for Father’s Day, our lucky last alternative was Mrs S. I have been to Mrs S before and it has been a while since my last visit. We arrived just after the peak lunch hour and managed to score ourselves a table. YAY! What I have noticed was that Mrs S has a Brunch menu until 3pm which is awesome and definitely leaves you with plenty of choices to choose from. The menu has also changed a bit since my last visit but that’s alright, it’s always good to … Continue reading Revisiting Mrs S

Run Amuk Hotdogs Unleashed

After finishing uni at mid day, the family and I decided to take a drive down the Freo. There were a lot of places in Freo which came to mind but there is one place that I have always wanted to try, which is Run Amuk Hotdogs Unleashed. We arrived at Run Amuk just after the peak lunch hour and were welcomed by the lovely lady who told us a bit about Run Amuk. She also gave some good recommendations which we eventually ordered based on her recommendation. I had The Punk ($12.50) which consists of premium bratwurst, crispy bacon, … Continue reading Run Amuk Hotdogs Unleashed

The Leopard Lodge

Sometimes there is a place that you want to try but it is so far away from home. You really want to try it but you start to think “Will it be worth the drive?” “Should I take the risk?” I guess sometimes it is worth the risk and definitely worth the effort if it is for good food. Yes, Leopard Lodge was worth the drive. Leopard Lodge is located in Carabooda, 15 minutes north of Joondalup (took us 35 minutes from Innaloo area on a Saturday evening!) On our way there, it was dark and we were worried at … Continue reading The Leopard Lodge
