Tuck Shop

Perth is famous for cafes and coffee shops which serves breakfast and lunch. And now, brunch is currently trending in Perth. While doing my research on which restaurants are worth going on Urbanspoon, I stumbled upon the Tuck Shop which has a great rating (93% likes it!) and is currently on the Talk of the Town list. When we arrived for brunch, the restaurant was quite full and I had to put my name down on a waiting list. We didn’t wait that long to be seated at our tables and our waitperson came and took our orders. Overall, the … Continue reading Tuck Shop

Juancho’s

Here is my post as promised on Juancho’s. This is also another one of the stalls in Subiaco Markets which I frequent for lunch whether it is after work, heading to uni or just before buying fruits and vegetables. Juancho’s offers delicacies and favourites from Mexico and El Salvadore. (Think tacos, quesadillas, nachos and the list goes on). And yes, mexican is one of my favourite cuisines too. The owners and staff are very friendly and their service is efficient. Sometimes the service may take a bit long during the peak lunch hour at Subiaco Markets, but otherwise it is … Continue reading Juancho’s

Shou Japanese Kitchen

One evening, mum and I decided to try Shou Japanese Kitchen in Greenwood for dinner from a recommendation of a friend. I have done some research on Urbanspoon and found that Shou has quite a good rating (96% likes it!) Apparently it is reasonably priced and the food is good. Well who doesn’t love that, considering most Perth restaurants are overpriced. Oh yeah, parking is not a hassle too! My advice to you is to try to make bookings for a table earlier as the restaurant is quite small and there’s only a few tables or you can also have … Continue reading Shou Japanese Kitchen

The Wild Duck

Have passed by this place several times on my way to uni and back. As I finish uni late on that day, we decided to give The Wild Duck Restaurant a try for dinner. Apparently Wild Duck was operating in Albany for 5 years and have recently relocated to Perth in November last year. When we first entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly smile and were taken to our table. The overall setting of this restaurant is really warm and cosy. It is also not too noisy which makes it perfect for catching up with friends, business … Continue reading The Wild Duck

Japanese dinner at Hanami

こんにちは! (Konnichiwa or hello in Japanese) For the past few days, I have been doing some research and am still looking for good Japanese restaurants in Perth. Japanese is also one of my favourite cuisines. There are quite a few Japanese restaurants in Perth but I stumbled upon Hanami on Urbanspoon from its good reviews and upon recommendation from a friend. So, we decided to give Hanami a try for dinner. This was my first time at Hanami. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a nice smile, friendly service and were seated to the table I made a … Continue reading Japanese dinner at Hanami

Shilla Korean BBQ

안녕하세요! (Ann-yeong-ha-se-yo which means Hello in Korean) As the greeting suggests, another one of my favourite cuisine is Korean! Whether it is one of those romantic korean dramas, hilarious game shows (Running Man!) or K-pop (think Gangnam Style!), korean cuisine has been increasingly popular. There are many Korean restaurants in Perth but Shilla Korean BBQ is one of the Korean restaurants that my family and I are regular customers of. Whenever we come here for dinner, we usually share the dishes. For our starters, we ordered the Hae-Mul-Pa-Jeon ($18) which is the Korean style savoury pancake with spring onions and assorted … Continue reading Shilla Korean BBQ

Jamie’s Italian

This is my second visit to Jamie’s Italian. The very first visit with dad, mum and I, we had to queue for almost 2 hours and had dinner/supper at 10pm. This time, we were lucky that we didn’t have to queue that long to get a table although we were separated into two tables of four and a table of two (we had a party of 10 and thanks to Jan’s friends for queuing early!). I am sure you are all wondering what’s the occasion this time. Well it’s to celebrate my friend, Jan’s pre-21st birthday dinner. For our table, … Continue reading Jamie’s Italian

Prego

This is our second time at Prego and this time, we were here to celebrate Mothers Day and Dad’s Birthday. Our first trip to Prego was really good and that’s why we are back. How I usually judge whether a food is good or not is if you intend return to the restaurant again. As it was a Saturday night, all the tables in Prego were occupied but luckily we have made a booking which I will advice you to do too. We were greeted with enthusiastic and friendly staff and were seated in our tables not long upon entering. … Continue reading Prego

No. 4 Blake Street

Apologies in advance as this will be a short post! It was a nice and cool Saturday morning which was perfect for catching up with a friend. We went to No. 4 Blake Street in North Perth for breakfast since both of us have wanted to go there and have heard of their popularity through Urbanspoon. My friend, Matt has been there for lunch and he said that it was average. So we decided to give breakfast a go, which will hopefully be better! We were at No.4 Blake Street early in the morning and the crowd still hasn’t kicked … Continue reading No. 4 Blake Street

Superstar Waffles

One place I often go for desserts in Northbridge is Superstar Waffles which is located in the lane near Jus Burgers and Is Donburi. As the name suggests, Superstar Waffles is primarily a dessert shop selling waffles. The first time I came here with my parents, we love the place and the waffles! We ordered and shared the Berrylicious waffle ($9.50) and the Sweet Milk Waffle Stick ($4). The Berrylicious waffle and the Sweet Milk Waffle Stick was very delicious and it was not too sweet. During another one of my other trips here, I came with three of my … Continue reading Superstar Waffles
