Harvest Espresso

I have always wanted to give Harvest Espresso a try and finally, my wish was granted. On a Sunday after doing a CXWORX and BodyAttack class in the morning, the family and I decided to visit Harvest Espresso for brunch. Coincidentally, I stumbled upon the Harvest Espresso voucher in the Entertainment Book and decided to use the voucher since it is going to expire in a month’s time. So yes, Harvest Espresso for brunch it was! Harvest Espresso has been the talk of town for a very long time and it is one of the most popular cafes around Perth. … Continue reading Harvest Espresso

Malaysian Food Adventures #19: Jibby and Co

If you happen to be around Empire Shopping Gallery at Subang Jaya lately, I am sure you will notice a new glass building which looks like a greenhouse outside. This new little building is home to cafe and restaurant, Jibby and Co which has been opened for more than a month now. Yes, residents of Subang Jaya will be pleased to hear that they no longer have to travel to Bangsar or Mont Kiara to get a lovely atmosphere and food. The concept of Jibby and Co reminds me of a lot of cafes that I have been to while … Continue reading Malaysian Food Adventures #19: Jibby and Co

Malaysian Food Adventures #17: FIQS Gastronomy

Yes yes yes, I think FIQS Gastronomy is what the suburb of SS19 needs! Food, Innovation, Quality is what the acronym of FIQ stands for and has already lived up to it. The chef/owner of FIQS is Syafiq. Drawing upon his learning experience from the Johnson and Wales Culinary School to work experience at pubs, burger joints, cafes, hotels in America and training with a best chef in the world holding 3 Michelin Stars, Syafiq brings affordable and quality food to FIQS which will tantalise your tastebuds. Fortysevenkirwanstreet

Situated in the heart of the Floreat suburb, along Kirwan Street, lies Fortysevenkirwanstreet. Matt and I decided to catch up for brunch and we decided that Fortysevenkirwanstreet would be perfect since it is not too far from where we live. When Matt and I arrived, the cafe was quite busy and crowded as it was during the peak hour brunch towards lunch time. This shows how popular the cafe is among the locals in the area. Luckily, we were able to find a table to ourselves inside as it was really hot on that day! Matt had the Potato and … Continue reading Fortysevenkirwanstreet

The Attic

And so, the Fremantle Adventures begin again. Yes, there is a lot to explore in Fremantle. Along Bannister St, lies a little cafe called “The Attic”. Past the counter where you place your order and up the stairs, you will find yourself at the attic, an eating area where everyone is enjoying their food, coffee or cake and having a great time catching up. From the deli counter to the brunch options, it was hard to decide what to order because everything looks and sounds good! I had the Cinnamon Mushrooms, Cummin Seed, White Cheese, Crispy Egg and Sourdough ($18) … Continue reading The Attic

Pearfect Pantry

Situated in the middle of the Wembley suburb along Herdsman Parade lies a little cafe behind a Laundromat called “Pearfect Pantry”. Yes, it is a hidden gem and it is quite easy to miss it. A handy hint – keep your eyes out for the Laundromat and you should be able to see signs pointing you to the right direction. When Matt and I arrived at Pearfect Pantry, we realised that we were half an hour late and had missed out on breakfast. But that’s ok, because we were still keen on lunch. I had the 5 Spice Crispy Pork … Continue reading Pearfect Pantry

Malaysian Food Adventures #3: Yut Kee Kopitiam

A good and hearty breakfast is a must before embarking on a shopping trip. (Ladies, I am sure you would agree too) A “Kopitiam” is a traditional coffee shop which is mainly found in Southeast Asia. One of the oldest Kopitiam in KL is Yut Kee Kopitiam which has been established in 1928. To this day, Yut Kee is still famous for its Hainanese-style breakfast such as the Hainanese Chicken Chop, Roti Babi, Roasted Pork with Apple sauce and so on. We were there on a public holiday. So yes, there is a huge crowd but it did not take … Continue reading Malaysian Food Adventures #3: Yut Kee Kopitiam

Moore & Moore

And so, the adventures to find hidden gems in Fremantle begins again. Another one of the cafes that has been on my wishlist for a while is Moore & Moore. With its mismatched furnitures and vintage decorations, Moore & Moore is one quirky cafe situated in the Moore’s Building at the heart of Fremantle. I had the Smashed New Potato Rosti ($21) which consists of mustard seed, spinach, romano cheese potato rosti topped with a poached egg, avocado, green olive and caper salsa rocket and tomato relish. I fell in love with my dish immediately. The tastiness of the potato … Continue reading Moore & Moore

1982 Espresso

Looking for breakfast on New Years Day in Perth is no easy task. It is hard to tell which places are open and which are closed over the festive season. As we drove along Rokeby Road in Subiaco after New Years Day, we noticed that 1982 Espresso was opened apart from Dome which was down the road. 1982 Espresso takes its home next to Regal Theatre, formerly the home of Brownhaus. As it was the first day of New Year’s, a hearty breakfast is needed to kickstart 2014. We had the Full Breakfast ($21.50) which consists of fried eggs, hash brown, baked … Continue reading 1982 Espresso

Two Rubens Espresso

Fremantle is one place where one can have their very own foodie adventure. Food and coffee lies in every corner of Fremantle, where some of them are definitely worth a visit. As we were walking along the streets in Fremantle, we stumbled upon Two Rubens Espresso. To start off, I had the Pantera Rosa juice ($7.50) which is a mix of watermelon, strawberry, apple mint and lemon. It was a very nice and refreshing drink to start off the day. Pantera Rosa Juice Dad had the Rubens ($15) which consists of either poached or scrambled eggs, short cut bacon, avocado, … Continue reading Two Rubens Espresso
