Piccolo’s Corner

After finishing a great BodyCombat workout, I decide to head to Piccolo’s Corner for brunch and coffee with mum and dad. As I am always doing “research” on Urbanspoon, I stumbled upon Piccolo’s Corner which had good reviews from the Urbanspoon community. Piccolo’s Corner is tucked in the suburb of West Leederville and is only a few minutes from Subiaco and Wembley. The cafe was not busy when we arrived probably because the Footy Finals were on and most people were at home watching the game. When we bumped into one of mum’s gym friend there, she told us that … Continue reading Piccolo’s Corner

Sun BBQ

After church in the evening, we decided to head to Sun BBQ for dinner. It was a perfect night for Korean BBQ as it was cold. The reason why we decided to go to Sun BBQ for dinner was from a recommendation made by one of dad’s friend. With music videos playing the latest Kpop hits, it definitely has set the scene for a Korean BBQ dinner. What I found interesting about Sun BBQ was the “metal-can lookalike” sort of seats. As I was looking around for a place to put my handbag and jacket, I did not realise that you … Continue reading Sun BBQ

Blu Grill

It was a Thursday night and we decided to go out for dinner as dad has just arrived in Perth. We head to Blu Grill, which was very close to home. No need for a parking ticket or to do the rounds to find parking as there are plenty of parking spaces available. The restaurant was a bit busy when we arrived considering it was a weekday. With no booking on a Thursday night, we were able to get a table in the restaurant with a 5 minute wait. How awesome is that or maybe we were just lucky! (I … Continue reading Blu Grill

Weir’s Kitchen

Tucked away in a corner of the Broadway shops, lies Weir’s Kitchen, located next to Weir’s Butchers. Weir’s Kitchen is cosy, homely and a great cafe to get away from the peak hour lunch crowd in Broadway. As I was finished with my classes just before lunchtime, Mum and I decided head to Weir’s Kitchen to have lunch since we were around the area. I ordered the Lamb Shanks with Mashed Potato ($13.95) and mum ordered the Satay Beef pie ($11.95). The Lamb Shanks were very delicious and the meat came off the bone easily as it must have been … Continue reading Weir’s Kitchen

Little Caesars Pizzeria

After the spotlighting field trip at Karakamia Widllife Sanctuary as a part of my Science Communication unit, we went to Little Caesars for pizzas at Mundaring which not too far from Chidlow. Little Caesars are famous for its pizzas throughout Perth. The first Little Caesars Pizzeria opened in Mundaring in 1996 and was run as a family business. Customers have been always spoilt for choice from their variety of pizzas on their menu. Oh, and not to forget, the dessert pizzas too! After walking 2km around Karakamia, we were rewarded with a buffet of of pizzas. I myself have actually … Continue reading Little Caesars Pizzeria

Hometown Kitchen

For Malaysian food in Perth, my family and I sometimes take a drive down to the South of the Swan River. One of the restaurants we frequent is Hometown Kitchen in Parkwood. I have been to Hometown Kitchen several times for lunch and dinner and we have been going back as they serve authentic Malaysian dishes. Hometown Kitchen is famous for Malaysian and Chinese delicacies and they are popular for their Curry Laksa and Curry Fish too! For dinner at Hometown Kitchen we ordered some of the dishes from the New Menu which is the 3 cup sauce Chicken Claypot … Continue reading Hometown Kitchen

Dhaba

After attending mass for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we battled heavy rains and fierce winds to have dinner at Dhaba. It was indeed a stormy night, great for something spicy like a curry. I was also craving for Indian food too. When we arrived, the restaurant was really quiet as it was stormy and I am guessing not many people are willing to go out for dinner on a cold, stormy night. The service was quick and efficient. Not long after we were seated, we placed our orders as we were also very hungry. We decided to … Continue reading Dhaba

Ootong & Lincoln

Woke up to a late Saturday morning and decided to take a drive down to Fremantle for brunch at Ootong & Lincoln with the family. I have heard many great reviews of Ootong & Lincoln from word of mouth to Urbanspoon reviews. When we arrived, the cafe was quite full but we managed to find ourselves a table. Ootong & Lincoln is a hip and quirky cafe with its mismatched vintage furniture and interior. For the drinks, I ordered the Green Smoothie ($9.50) consisting of apple, lemon, green leaves, kiwi fruit, banana and chia seeds. It was a very yummy … Continue reading Ootong & Lincoln

Silks

Two weeks ago, Silks opened their doors to Perth diners in Crown Perth. Of pretty lanterns, towering vases and fine cutlery banded in gold, the interior was opulent and classy. It seems that Chinese fine dining has been taken to another level at Silks. Although the restaurant opens at 12 noon for lunch, we arrived a little bit early. We were also given a menu to look at so we could decide what to order later. The service was very friendly and efficient. When the clock struck 12, we were ushered to our table. An interesting note: To all ladies, … Continue reading Silks

The Rice Noodle House

Suddenly, that craving for Nasi Lemak has hit me once again. Nasi Lemak is a Malaysian delicacy which consists of fragrant coconut rice with sambal, ikan bilis (anchovies), peanuts and boiled egg. Some dishes which goes well with Nasi Lemak includes sambal squid, sambal fish, chicken or chicken/beef rendang, squid fritters or even fried chicken or fish. We arrived at The Rice Noodle House after the peak lunch hour. This is my second time here and we have already decided what to order. NASI LEMAK! Dad and I ordered the Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang ($10.50) and mum ordered the Nasi … Continue reading The Rice Noodle House
