Tucked away in a corner of the Broadway shops, lies Weir’s Kitchen, located next to Weir’s Butchers. Weir’s Kitchen is cosy, homely and a great cafe to get away from the peak hour lunch crowd in Broadway. As I was finished with my classes just before lunchtime, Mum and I decided head to Weir’s Kitchen to have lunch since we were around the area.
I ordered the Lamb Shanks with Mashed Potato ($13.95) and mum ordered the Satay Beef pie ($11.95). The Lamb Shanks were very delicious and the meat came off the bone easily as it must have been cooked for a long time. The mashed potato was soft and creamy which complements the Lamb Shanks well, making it a perfect wintry dish. (I love mashed potato)

I had a bit of a taste test of mum’s Satay Beef pie. It was full of flavour and there was a generous amount of satay beef filling in the pie. The pastry was also cooked perfectly. The salad which came with the pie, was fresh and complements the pie well.

Overall, it was a very decent lunch and I was left feeling satisfied. I will definitely be back to Weir’s Kitchen again to try out more food from their menu and for coffee and cake too. It’s a hidden gem!
