Zest Leura

After visiting Wentworth Falls during our Blue Mountains adventure, it was time for lunch. During our tour, we had the opportunity to enjoy our lunch break at the little town of Leura. After walking past a few cafes and having a browse at their menus, we decided to have lunch at a cafe called Zest. Zest is both a restaurant and cafe which specialises in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean styles of cooking. As it was a bit chilly and rainy, the three of us decided to order Shakshukas for lunch. I had the Shakshuka with Chorizo ($18). The Shakshuka consists … Continue reading Zest Leura

Hurricane’s Grill

After finishing our Blue Mountains tour with a river cruise back to Darling Harbour, it was time for dinner at Hurricane’s Grill. It has been a long day exploring the Blue Mountains and we were pretty hungry at the end of the day. Hurricane’s Grill is located on level 2 of Harbourside Shopping Centre. When we arrived, we were lucky to be able to be seated in 5 minutes without a booking. I must also say that the restaurant was already busy when we first arrived! We decided to share a full rack of pork ribs ($44.90) with baked potato … Continue reading Hurricane’s Grill

Chefs Gallery

After our little adventure exploring around Sydney CBD, it was time for dinner at Chefs Gallery. To be on the safe side, I made a booking for the three of us on Dimmi a few days before as I heard that the restaurant can be quite packed, even on a weeknight. We arrived at Chefs Gallery Town Hall at 8.30pm and the restaurant was quite busy indeed. The menu had a wide selection of food. It was tough to decide what to order but in the end, we settled for a few dishes to share while leaving some room for … Continue reading Chefs Gallery

Gelato Messina

After our filling lunch at Gumshara Ramen, we decided to take a walk back to Surry Hills and we felt like having something sweet. What came straight to our minds was Gelato Messina, knowing that it is not too far from our hotel. The moment I stepped into Gelato Messina. It was gelato heaven and there were so many different flavours that I want to try them all. My two friends left me to make the decision to choose five flavours for the gelato tasting plate ($12). I was spoilt for a choice but luckily I was able to take … Continue reading Gelato Messina

Gumshara Ramen

After putting down our luggages at our hotel in Surry Hills, my friends and I decided to head towards Chinatown for brunch to fill our tummies before our next adventure in Sydney. We decided to head to Gumshara Ramen from hearing many great reviews. After five minutes walking around Chinatown searching for Gumshara Ramen high and low, we finally found it! Gumshara Ramen is located at a food court at the end of Chinatown called Eating World. Once you pass through those sliding doors, you are definitely at the right place. Apart from Gumshara Ramen, there’s also 10 to 15 … Continue reading Gumshara Ramen

Chin Chin

After our light meal or I should perhaps say “Starters” at Shanghai Street Dumplings, we took a short walk to Chin Chin which is located along Flinders Lane. Our initial plan was to have dinner at Chin Chin on Sunday evening. However, when we arrived at 7.30pm on a Sunday evening at Chin Chin, there was a long queue and we were told that we could only be seated by 8.45 pm which was a bit late. So, we decided to arrive early around 6pm for an early dinner at Chin Chin for an early night before leaving to Sydney … Continue reading Chin Chin

Shanghai Street Dumplings

After an hour’s walk (yes, we are walking again!) from Burch and Purchese in South Yarra, our tummies were making a familiar rambling sound again. It’s time for….MORE FOOD!! We came to our decisions quickly based on a recommendation from a friend and from hearing many good reviews, we decided to head back to Little Bourke Street in Melbourne city to enjoy some Shanghai Dumplings or Xiao Long Bao at Shanghai Street Dumplings. We arrived at Shanghai Street Dumplings 20 minutes early before it opens so we decided to spend that 20 minutes window shopping at the massive H&M store … Continue reading Shanghai Street Dumplings

Chez Dre

After our early morning adventure to Brighton Beach and an hour’s walk from Southern Cross Train Station, we arrived just at lunch time for our food adventure at Chez Dre. Tucked away in one of South Melbourne’s laneway is home to patisserie and cafe, Chez Dre, offering French-inspired sweets and savoury delights, pastries and a great selection of petits gateaux. I had the Eggs Royale ($18.50) which consists of smoked salmon, tobiko, yuzu-miso hollandaise and poached eggs on sourdough. The eggs were poached to perfection with orange liquid full of goodness oozing out from the eggs. Apart from the eggs, … Continue reading Chez Dre
