Zest Leura

After visiting Wentworth Falls during our Blue Mountains adventure, it was time for lunch. During our tour, we had the opportunity to enjoy our lunch break at the little town of Leura. After walking past a few cafes and having a browse at their menus, we decided to have lunch at a cafe called Zest. Zest is both a restaurant and cafe which specialises in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean styles of cooking.

As it was a bit chilly and rainy, the three of us decided to order Shakshukas for lunch. I had the Shakshuka with Chorizo ($18). The Shakshuka consists of eggs poached in rich tomato sauce with onions, capsicum, smoked paprika and chilli served with pita bread. It was so delicious, rich in flavour with a bit of a spicy kick to it – perfect to keep our bellies full for the next part of our adventure and to keep us warm. The pita bread also complements well with the Shakshuka. It had the perfect consistency – soft, light and fluffy. All three of us gave a thumbs up for our Shakshukas, enjoying every single spoonful of it.

Shakshuka with Chorizo

We were so full after lunch and were full of energy once again to commence our next part of our adventure exploring around the Blue Mountains. Looks like the Shakshuka was definitely what we needed to refuel our bodies! Oh and not forgetting the atmosphere around Zest which was homely, comfortable and inviting. If I had a chance to come back to Leura, I would definitely love to be back to Zest again.
