LuxBite

“Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first” – Ernestine Ulmer

If you have a sweet tooth, LuxBite is the place to go to if you are in Melbourne. Located along Toorak Road in South Yarra, is cafe and patisserie LuxBite with delectable and delightful sweets treats that will take you to dessert heaven. Bernard Chu and Yen Yee are the owners behind LuxBite bringing their expertise and experience from working in some of Australia’s best restaurants to fusing Asian and Australian backgrounds together to produce fun and gorgeous desserts. Some of you might recall the nostalgic Lolly Bag Cake from LuxBite which made an appearance in one of the seasons of MasterChef Australia.

After catching a tram from Chez Dre plus a bit of walking, we arrived at LuxBite with our stomachs hungry for sweets. Like a kid in a candy store, I stood and had a good few minutes admiring the beautiful and pretty desserts and macarons on display. There were so many good choices which makes it so difficult to decide! (I want to just try them all!) In the end, we went for the Endless Love ($9) and Be My Love ($8.50) cake.

The Endless Love cake, inspired by Pierre Herme’s Ispahan, comprises of Lychee Ganache, Rose Cream, Lychee and Fresh Raspberries. The presentation of the Endless Love cake itself looks impressive too. The macaron shell on top and at the bottom had a lovely crunch and sweetness to it, complementing well with a great combination of fresh and sweet flavours. It was deliciously good. If you are a fan of lychee and rose, you will have an Endless Love for this cake!

Endless Love

One of LuxBite’s best seller is the Be My Love cake. It consists of milk chocolate mousse, raspberry cream, dark chocolate crunch, chocolate graze and freeze dried raspberry. If you like it rich, smooth, decadent and chocolatey, this cake is calling you to Be My Love.

Be My Love

I enjoyed both of the cakes I ordered and there was just so much love and attention to detail put into making these cakes. Oh and the best part is LuxBite also offers a selection of gluten free options such as the Be My Love and Endless Love cakes which I ordered. I’m in love with LuxBite and I admit that I am taken to dessert heaven.
