Francoforte Spaghetti Bar

On a Friday evening, I decided to catch up with one of my uni friends, Clara as it has been a while since we last saw each other. As both of us are foodies, we eventually came to a decision to catch up over dinner at Francoforte Spaghetti Bar while also knowing that there’s dessert at Superstar Waffles which is located directly opposite Francoforte. We arrived early at 6pm and were able to find a table to ourselves. I have walked past Francoforte once late on a Friday evening and it was packed to the rafters! Having our dinner early … Continue reading Francoforte Spaghetti Bar

Beer 101 at The Brisbane Hotel

A few weeks ago, I was invited to enrol in Beer School by local brewers, Little Creatures at The Brisbane Hotel. I was excited to see what The Brisbane has to offer for this round at Beer School after attending their popular Roast and Red Night in winter. Beer School took place at the beer garden and it was such a lovely day to sit outside and learn a bit or two about beer. It was actually a perfect day for a beer! While learning about the history of beer and tasting some of the essential ingredients used to make … Continue reading Beer 101 at The Brisbane Hotel

P’tite Ardoise Bistro

Every year, we celebrate that special day whether it is a milestone or just another year older and wiser. To celebrate my birthday, my family and I went to P’tite Ardoise Bistro for my birthday dinner. I was lucky to call up a day before to make a booking as I found out from the manager on that day that the restaurant was fully booked! Yep, and it’s a Thursday night too! One step inside P’tite Ardoise and I am instantly transported into a French Bistro in Paris. The atmosphere and ambience was cosy and romantic with soft French music … Continue reading P’tite Ardoise Bistro

Lenny the Ox

Located along Wray Avenue, Lenny the Ox is one upcoming cafe that is currently gaining its popularity in Fremantle. Oh, and I just found out that Lenny the Ox is also partly owned by the same people who operates Ootong and Lincoln, another local Freo institution. At Lenny the Ox, everything is made fresh from the start including their salads to sandwiches and even cakes. Mum had the Grilled Salmon ($12.50) with basmati rice, cherry tomato, salsa verde and brussel sprouts. I had a taste test of the salmon and it was grilled to perfection. The salsa verde gave the … Continue reading Lenny the Ox

Tamarind Cafe

Tucked away from Gugeri Street is Claremont’s latest secret eatery, Tamarind Cafe. Tamarind Cafe is new to the Claremont dining scene as it has just recently opened 2 months ago offering a fusion of Australian and Malaysian dishes. Surrounded by residential apartments, the casual ambience and atmosphere at Tamarind Cafe with an alfresco dining area is suitable for customers to eat, relax and catch up over food. Tamarind Cafe is one hidden gem. As we were there on a Saturday night, we had no bookings and managed to get ourselves a table. For the mains, mum had the Seafood Laksa … Continue reading Tamarind Cafe

The Raw Kitchen

Yes you heard it right, raw food is currently trending and is increasingly popular among health and fitness enthusiasts. Located in the heart of Fremantle along High Street, is The Raw Kitchen. One step into The Raw Kitchen and you will find yourself in an original 1920s warehouse with an ethos on healthy, sustainable living. The Raw Kitchen is not only home to the popular plant-based restaurant but is also a home to a lifestyle store, yoga and studio space. A few weekends back, my Tough Mudder training group and I decided to hold  a surprise birthday dinner at The Raw … Continue reading The Raw Kitchen

Chesters Restaurant

One fine Saturday mid morning, the family and I decided to take a drive down to Swan Valley for a good lunch. One of the places that we were keen to go back to was Elmar’s. Unfortunately, Elmar’s was closed for a function on the day and it will be re-opened to the public at 1.30 pm. As we were quite hungry, we decided to head next door to give Chesters Restaurant a try, since we could also use our Entertainment Gold Card there too! Take a step down memory lane and Chesters Restaurant was once a fruit drying shed … Continue reading Chesters Restaurant

A revisit back to Silks

Last week, Pia from Life of Pia invited me to come along with her as a guest to have lunch at Silks at Crown Perth. When we arrived, we were welcomed and had a chat with Silks Restaurant Manager, Jeffery who also gave us recommendations for our cocktails and food. To start off our Silks dining experience, I had the Lychee Sensation Cocktail and Pia had the Golden Silks Cocktail. The Lychee Cocktail was fruity with a nice hint of Lychee flavours. But,  I must say that Pia’s Golden Silks Cocktail looked amazing! It looks like liquid gold with a … Continue reading A revisit back to Silks

Ria

Last Tuesday, I attended the Ria Yelp’s Elite Event held at the newly refurbished Ria in Leederville. Ria has been a local institution in Leederville for Malaysian food. It has been ages since my last visit to Ria and I could notice the changes and how large the venue is now compared to a few years back. There’s outdoor and indoor seating areas and it’s so much more spacious now. To start off, we had the Crispy Prawns, Lotus Chips and Pork Belly Tacos to share. The Crispy Prawns had a light and fresh flavour with a crispy finish. I … Continue reading Ria

Launching of V Burger Bar’s new Brioche Line

Yesterday, Matt and I attended the launching of the Brioche Line at V Burger Bar’s Blogger Nite along with other Perth bloggers at V Burger Bar Floreat Forum. When we arrived, there was a long table set up specially for guests with roses and candles as decorations in the middle. Together with champagne and wine to start off, it was a celebration to launch the brand new brioche line. During the night, we mingled around with the shareholders and also got to know a little bit about V Burger Bar. We also took the time to get to know and … Continue reading Launching of V Burger Bar’s new Brioche Line
