Recently, we were invited to try Brotzeit’s new menu which was launched recently in May. Born in Singapore, Brotzeit had expanded over the years to many cities and countries in South East Asia. Early February last year, the first Brotzeit in Australia opened its doors to customers in one40william, Perth CBD. They have also opened their 2nd outlet in Lakeside Joondalup for those living north of the river. Not only that, the 3rd Brotzeit was recently opened at Baldivis Stockland Shopping Centre.
To start off our epic German feast, we had the spicy beef goulash soup ($10.50). The soup was rich in flavour and heartwarming with tender pieces of beef. Perfect for cold and chilly nights.
What I love about Brotzeit is the platters which gives you the ability to try Brotzeit’s all time favourite dishes, perfect for groups. We shared a Brotzeit Platter ($98) comprising of pork knuckle, best of brotzeit sausages, honey bavarian pork ribs and two side dishes which are the spatzle and the mashed potato. The bavarian pork ribs had a lovely flavour. It’s sweet, tender and falls off the bone.
We indulged in some sausages. There was lamb, veal, pork, pork and garlic and lamb and cheese sausages on the platter. Each of them unique in their very own flavour, smoked to perfection and full of meaty goodness. My favourite would be the pork and garlic sausage.
I love a good pork knuckle. The pork knuckle at Brotzeit had a very crispy crackling and it was so tender and juicy.
We also tried the slow cooked beef cheeks served with truffle mashed potato, red cabbage, horseradish and gremolata ($32.90). The beef cheeks were cooked perfectly to soft in texture complementing well with the smooth and creamy truffle mashed potato. It was a very hearty dish.
To end my post, here’s a good tip: make sure you prepare an empty stomach before your visit to Brotzeit!
We would like to thank Raymond for inviting us to try Brotzeit’s new menu and the Brotzeit team at One40William for the delicious German feast.
