A few weekends ago, I was invited to the launch of Riverside Brewhouse, a new bar inside the Old Swan Brewery. It was an afternoon comprising of free flow of beers, ciders and sampling some tasty dishes from the new menu.
The best way to sample the different types of house beers is through the Tasting Paddle where you get to try 5 x 200ml tasters of your choice from the selection of house beers. My favourite has to be the Narrows Lager which has a clean and crisp flavour, making it easy to drink.
To complement our beers, there was a range of great tasting and scrumptious food on offer and perfect for sharing. We were presented with a Charcuterie and Cheese board which included chicken and duck parfait ($12.50), pork, quail and date terrine ($12.50), pickled octopus ($15.50) and Jamon Serrano ($15 per 25g), just to name a few.
The hit during the launch would definitely be the hot and sour chicken wings ($29) with spiced Korean dipping sauce. Hot, spicy and finger licking good. We enjoyed some Jamon and Manchego Croquettes (4 for $12.50) which were crispy on the outside and oozing full of cheesiness inside. There’s also the BBQ Pork Ribs with slaw and hand cut chips ($29/$45) which was delicious and the 3 soft tacos consisting of southern fried chicken, baja fish and smoked beef burnt ends for $28.50.
In addition, we sampled some burgers with our beers which was the RBH Cheese and Pickle Burger with onion and smoked BBQ sauce ($15) along with some poutine ($15) to indulge in.
Overlooking the Swan River, Riverside Brewhouse is the perfect place to be for a casual drink or two and indulge in some delicious food with your drinks.
