It’s really great to see that the food scene in Joondalup is expanding.
Last Saturday, I visited Paper Avenue for brunch and caught up with Elwyn’s sister, Charlene. Paper Avenue is a cafe located on a little street in the heart of Joondalup. I have heard so much about this place and was looking forward to our catch up while indulging in delicious food. When I arrived, the cafe was buzzing full of good vibes and great energy.
I had the Bacon and Halloumi Bruschetta which was recommended to me by Martin from Morsels. The Bacon and Halloumi Bruschetta comprised of hand-cut bacon , grilled halloumi, poached eggs, sauteed spinach and chutney served on toasted ciabatta with balsamic glaze. I really loved how the halloumi was cooked perfectly that it is not too chewy. The chutney complements each element on the dish perfectly, giving it a lovely sweet texture.
Charlene had the Slow Cooked Beef Brisket Benedict. The slow cooked hickory beef brisket benedict was so tender, soft and full of flavour. The lemon and herb hollandaise was perfectly rich in texture and creamy, complementing well with the other elements on the dish. It was so tasty and hearty!
To accompany our food, Charlene had a Cappuccino and I had one of their famous Wellness Drinks, the Strawberry Swoon Latte. Did it make me swoon? Yes it sure did! The strawberry swoon is a fruit tea with rosehip, hibiscus, strawberry, apple and orange peel which are my favourite things. The Wellness Drinks at Paper Avenue are available hot or cold and you can also choose your choice of milk.
Overall, we really enjoyed our food and hope to be back to Paper Avenue once again. The service was warm, welcoming and friendly. How I wished I live closer to Paper Avenue!
