The heat is gone and the gorgeous weather is here to stay (for now!). 300 Acres is located in the heart of Wembley Downs, surrounded by the picturesque Wembley Golf Course. It’s been ages since I have last been to Wembley Golf Course and I was surprised how different the golf course looked after the major redevelopments. There’s even a mini golf area and a function room too!
On a lovely Saturday afternoon, my mum and I head to 300 Acres for a casual lunch. The interior of 300 Acres is very relaxed with an alfresco area overlooking the lush golf course. It’s a great venue for family lunches over the weekend or catching up with friends.
We shared two dishes. I had the lamb rump, cabbage, sweet potato puree, roasted tomato and fresh bread ($29.50). It was a lovely dish comprising of moorish flavours. The lamb rump was very juicy and tender and I loved mopping up the tasty sauce with a serve of fresh bread. Overall, it was a hearty and flavoursome dish.
My mum on the otherhand went for a lighter option which was the salt and pepper squid salad, charred pineapple, Asian slaw and toasted peanuts ($24.50). The salad had a touch of Asian flavours. The well seasoned salt and pepper squid complements well with the freshness of the Asian slaw and the charred pineapple gave a sweet texture to the salad.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, 300 Acres is the place to be. The bar and restaurant is open 7 days a week and for all day casual dining from 8.00 am to late. Love your golf? Go ahead and reward yourself with some heartwarming food and a cold drink or two at 300 Acres.
