This year we see the Northbridge food scene expanding. It’s bigger and better with William Street home to many great food joints. There’s The Hummus Club, The Chippery and Co and Whisk Creamery. I have my eyes set on the Hummus Club after perusing through several Instagram photos and hearing a lot about the delicious hummus.
On a Friday evening, I caught up with my friends, Clara (@the_inner_glutton) and Tika. I really loved the casual and chilled atmosphere at The Hummus Club where walk ins are also welcomed. If you haven’t heard, the duo behind The Hummus Club is Kaitlin and Ziad Zammar. The Hummus Club was born out of Kaitlin and Ziad’s passion for middle eastern food.
We shared a bowl of hummus with chickpeas and olive oil ($14). I loved the nutty flavours of the hummus and the smooth texture, complementing well with the side serve of pita bread.
We also had a beef hummus with pomegranate and pita crisps ($18). The beef was tender and flavoursome along with the crispy pita crisps and a sweet crunch from the pomegranate, complementing well with the lovely hummus. Overall, it was a texturally well balanced dish.
Next our share plates arrived. We ordered the Lamb Kefta ($17) and Zaatar Fried Chicken ($16). The lamb kefta which was cooked to perfection was so tender with a great flavour. Zaatar Fried Chicken was another hit on the table. It’s crispy on the outside and bursting full of fragrant aroma and flavour complementing well with the juicy chicken. So flavoursome!
Overall, we really enjoyed the food at The Hummus Club and now I could see why they are so popular for their Hummus and Middle Eastern dishes. I’m craving for a good bowl of hummus now and I highly recommend The Hummus Club!
