If you have read my other posts, you would have known that one of my guilty pleasures is desserts and sweet treats. Following our ramen lunch at Nomstar Ramen, we head over to the Dessert Room for some indulgent desserts. The Dessert Room is also located in Waterford Shopping Centre, Karawara which took over Theobroma, a previous chocolate cafe. The cafe is a sweet tooth’s dream come true, offering desserts, milkshakes, swiss rolls and pastries.
We started off with a matcha dessert shake ($8.50). It’s rich, creamy with a lovely green tea or matcha flavour which is not overly sweet. I loved how there’s a little green tea pocky at the top as a little treat.
Next up was the pandan waffle sandwich ($11.50) with salted caramel and hazelnut ice-cream and kaya sauce. For us, this was just amazing. The waffle was soft and fluffy with a slight crisp around the edges. There’s a strong pandan flavour which balances well with the creaminess of the salted caramel ice cream and the sweetness of the coconut jam. With some bits and pieces of hazelnut in the ice cream, it’s like a hidden surprise with every mouthful. I couldn’t agree more that pandan and kaya is a matchmake in heaven.
You can also find swiss rolls by Rollpublic at the Dessert Room. We indulged in a durian swiss roll during our visit. If you love durian, you will love the durian swiss roll. The durian filling in the middle of the swiss roll was rich and strong in durian flavour. It was a hit for me.
One week later and we’re still dreaming of the pandan waffle sandwich. It’s definitely a highly recommend from us. And, I do hear the red velvet waffle sandwich tastes as amazing too. I am already looking forward to see what other desserts the Dessert Room will come up with in the future. Yes, I will be back with my sweet tooth to get my dessert fix.
Thank you Jonas and Helen from the Dessert Room for having us. 🙂
Hmmm, another post that makes me jealous! Love the way that dessert shake sounds, I have to find a place that does those.
The dessert shake was good! I much prefer this to crazy milkshakes with bacon or donuts on top 🙂
