Of Meat and Malbec at Asado

A few weeks ago, we were invited along with other Perth foodies to attend a meat and Malbec tasting night at Asado. During the night, we sipped on Malbecs and learnt a little bit about each of the different types of Malbecs. We were also guided through the cuts of meat used at Asado and how the Parilla BBQ is used to cook the meat and create its flavor. L1050731L1050768

Apart from Malbec tasting, we indulged in a feast of meat. Each of the dishes were deliciously good and flavorsome. In particular, the meats cooked from the Parilla BBQ were tender, juicy and full of flavour. I love how the chimichurri and salsa criolla on the side gives a hint of freshness to the meats. Our favorites were the rump cap (not pictured) and crispy pork hock. To complement our meaty dishes, there’s the beet salad, buffalo milk queso fresco, marjoram dressing and the feta crumbed field mushrooms. Love the freshness of the beet salad and the earthy flavors of the feta crumbed mushrooms.

For desserts, we had the lemon curd, meringue, ginger bread and lemon thyme sorbet. It’s refreshing in flavor and bursting full of citrus-y goodness. One of my favorites at Asado. We were also introduced to a new dessert which was the chocolate and chantilly mille-feuille and dulce de leche ice cream. This was the highlight of the night. Just one taste and everyone fell in love immediately with this dessert. It’s rich, creamy and luscious. We were taken to foodie heaven.

Once again, Asado never fails to disappoint. If you love your meat and still haven’t been, I highly recommend paying Asado a visit. Love the new additions on the menu too, especially the chocolate and chantilly mille-feuille and dulce de leche ice cream – heavenly!

We would like to thank Laura Moseley for the invitation to attend the Meat and Malbec tasting night at Asado. We were so full and had a great time indulging in meats and Malbecs!
