New to the Victoria Park brunch scene is The Social Manna.
I was recommended The Social Manna by fellow food blogger, Martin from Morsels who also wrote an article on Social Manna on Broadsheet. Read the article here to find out more about the background behind Social Manna.
We ordered a few dishes to share from the brunch menu. First up was the Pulled Salt Beef Hash with herbed potato hash, spinach, poached egg and mustard hollandaise. The pulled salt beef hash was moreish, tender and flavoursome, perfect with the tangy mustard hollandaise.
We also had the Egg Benny Bao with crispy pork belly, son in law fried egg, xo hollandaise, bao bun with pickles and chilli salad. This dish had a burst of flavours from the fluffy bao bun to the crispy, juicy pork belly. There is a hint of spice from the chilli salad and the tasty xo hollandaise which complement the dish well. It’s like a party of flavours in the mouth.
Who says you can’t have doughnuts for breakfast? Well you sure can at The Social Manna. The breakfast doughnuts comprised of three raspberry curd filled mini doughnuts, rose mascarpone, seasonal fruit, seed and nut crumble. The doughnuts were so fresh and the raspberry curd added a sweet touch to the doughnuts. Guaranteed to give you a sweet start to the day!
There’s always something for everyone at the Social Manna. All cakes, muffins, pastries and sourdough bread are baked in-house daily along with a cabinet of sandwiches and salads. Check out their range of complimentary compound-butters and jams (our favourite is the browned butter and umami butter!) from the breakfast bar which is perfect to slather on the housemade toast and croissants.
Overall, we really enjoyed the food and dining experience at Social Manna and are looking forward to being back again soon!
