Living healthy at Living Green Cafe

Located in the heart of Subiaco along Rokeby Road is Living Green Cafe, part of the Boschendal group. As the name suggests, Living Green Cafe serves healthy and nutritious food. From Acai bowls to wraps, salads and paninis, you get to design your own style of food from a variety of quality and organic ingredients.

Mum and I visited the Living Green Cafe today and we decided to order from the brunch menu which was available until 12pm on weekdays and 2pm on weekends. Mum had the Acai Bowl ($14). It’s a bowl packed full of nutritious goodies which comprised of blueberries, blackerries, banana, flaked almonds and coconut milk base, topped with strawberries, kiwi fruit, cacao nibs, paleo granola, pumpkin seeds and shredded coconut. Want a refreshing kick-start to the day? The Acai Bowl is the answer for you!

I had the smoked salmon, cream cheese and grape cherry tomatoes on sourdough ($15) from the brunch menu. The smoked salmon was fresh in flavour, complementing well with the cream cheese. The grape cherry tomatoes gave a burst of flavour on the tastebuds. Overall, I really enjoyed the quality and freshness of the ingredients.

We had some drinks to accompany our dishes. I had the Tropical Zing ($8.50), a tropical celebration of pineapple, orange, mango, ginger, lemon, turmeric and coconut water. Compared to the smoothies available, the Tropical Zing was one of the lighter options. It’s refreshing and tangy in flavour with a hint of turmeric, in which I didn’t mind.

If you decided to build your own smoothie bowl, salads, wraps or paninis, all you have to do is to grab a tray and container and proceed to the salad bar. Then, it is time to get creative and choose your ingredients from a wide range of organic ingredients available (probably the hardest part for the indecisive me).
