New to the Northbridge food scene is Authentic Bites Dumpling House. As the name of the restaurant suggests, Authentic Bites specialises in dumplings and is Perth’s first dumpling house. When we arrived at Authentic Bites before 12pm, there was already a queue ahead but it did not take too long to land a table for us.
We had the crab meat and pork soup dumplings (8 pieces for $13.50) to share. Served steaming hot, the dumplings were delicate in texture. You can definitely taste the freshness of the dumplings as they are freshly made in house. I love these bite sized morsels because of the little surprise inside which is the hot, flowing soup along with the juicy minced pork and crab meat.
I had the Braised Beef Noodle Soup ($12.50). The braised beef was very tender and delicious soaked in a flavoursome beef broth.
Elwyn had the Fried Pork Ribs with Noodle Soup ($13). The pork ribs were flavoursome and well seasoned. On our first visit, the pork ribs were served together with the noodle soup. However, during our second visit, the pork ribs were served separately which was perfect as to avoid the pork being soggy in the soup.
To finish, we had some Red Bean Buns (2 pieces for $6) in the shape of adorable bunnies! I am not really a big fan of red bean but I loved the red bean buns here as they have a lovely sweetness to it.
Authentic Bites Dumpling House is a place that I will definitely go back over and over again for their quality and authentic dumplings which is worth a queue for. Also, don’t forget to order the amazing pan fried dumplings during your visit too!
