We sizzled. We mixed. We ate. This year, the refurbished Beaux Lane at Mount Lawley is coming to life with restaurants such as Pepper Lunch, Health Freak Cafe and Miss Potz taking residence in this lane. If you haven’t been to Pepper Lunch before, Pepper Lunch is a DIY restaurant where you are the chef. An experience like no other, you immense yourself in the culinary experience of “Sizzling It your Way”on the signature patented 260 degree sizzling hot teppan. At Pepper Lunch, it’s not only all about experience but also an experiment to add some sweet or garlic sauce to create your own taste.

Two weeks ago, we were invited to the Pepper Lunch Perth Food Bloggers event at the newly opened Pepper Lunch at Mount Lawley. Recently, Pepper Lunch introduced their all new vegetarian menu which we tried. We had the sun-dried tomato pesto pasta and added on an extra egg, cheese and mushroom. The sun-dried tomato pasta was delicious with plenty of fresh flavours from the ingredients and a hint of sweetness from the sun-dried tomato. It’s our favourite and definitely comfort food for the soul.

We had one of the Signature Pepper Rice, the Jumbo beef pepper rice, served with Pepper Lunch’s unique margarine and thinly sliced beef with egg, cheese and mushrooms as the add ons. With plenty of roasted black pepper on top and the tenderness of the beef, it’s a hearty meal that is bursting full of flavour. Truly scrumptious!

We were offered a complimentary agedashi tofu which had a lovely balance of flavours. Crisp on the outside and smooth and silky inside, topped with a sweet sauce.

We shared a few sides to complement our meals. They were the sweet potato wedges, onion rings, miso soup and a sesame chicken shake shake salad.

We managed to demolish our meals and sides and our plates were left spotless clean.  The service was excellent and friendly. We can’t wait to be back one day to try their steak dishes and to indulge in more sizzling dishes. If you love DIY meals or are looking to try a new experience, Pepper Lunch is the place for you.
