Love chicken? Love beer? Chimek is the place for you!

Chimek first opened in Fremantle markets back in 2015 and expanded to opening their second store in Northbridge. Fried chicken and beer is a very popular craze in both Korea and America and that craze has hit Perth too.

Recently, we were invited to try the food at Chimek. With quite a few choices of fried chicken to choose from, we were recommended The Southern Fried Chicken which is Chimek’s popular.  The Southern Fried Chicken ($12.50) is a straight up original American fried chicken seasoned with cayenne pepper and paprika. There’s also a side serve of chips included too! Unlike other places, the fried chicken served at Chimek are decent in size. It’s crispy on the outside, well seasoned with spice, tender and so juicy. The best part? Plastic gloves are served on the side so you don’t have to get your hands dirty. But if you like getting your hands dirty, the fried chicken at Chimek is sure to be finger licking good!

We also shared a Southern Fried Chicken Brioche burger ($14.50), a Chimek signature. There’s cornichons, garlic aioli, lettuce, cheese, fried chicken, jalapenos, tomatoes completed with a brioche bun. Take one bite of the burger and it’s a party on your tastebuds from the crispy fried chicken to the soft brioche bun.

Yes of course, we paired our fried chicken and burgers with beer. If you are craving for fried chicken, Chimek is definitely the place to be. Don’t feel like chicken? No worries, Chimek also offers a funky range of food where you can sink your teeth into.
